About Us

Katherine and Jamie Partis

Katherine started Katherine Partis Limited in 2007 with a pretty simple formula – to create great quality clothing in a responsible and sustainable way and pair that with an approach to enjoy herself while she did it.

World Equestrian Games shirt

She began with designing and retailing her own line of shirts and was soon spotted by the British Equestrian Federation as a potential supplier of Team GBR’s uniform. Supplying shirts for both the European Championships in 2009 and the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA in the following year. Her biggest challenge here was rather than coordinating the 130+ shirts to be sent to the competitors and crew but trying to pin down the likes of William Fox-Pitt for their tailored fittings.

Her desire to grow the business meant sourcing brands that met with her ideology. As luck would have it a chance encounter at CLA Game Fair with a previous colleague, now the owner and Managing Director of Orca Bay Shoes, created new opportunities. Orca Bay’s design and craftsmanship dovetailed perfectly with Katherine’s philosophy and her customers loved this new addition. Katherine has continued to selectively add brands with an openly admitted love of the Scandinavian companies that reflect her desire to approach fashion as sustainable and function led.

Katherine had always expressed concerns over the traditional high street business model which she felt had lost it way and no longer offered customers a particularly compelling ‘experience’. She looked to the more dynamic events that paired great shopping with other passions such as cars, horses and country pursuits. You will find her at events such as Goodwood Revival, Burghley Horse Trials and the Scottish Game Fair to name but a few. Katherine and her team have a great approach at the fairs and festivals to ensure that their genuine passion and enthusiasm about the products they sell are as much a part of the event as the event itself.

Recognising the need for multi-layered retailing Katherine has developed her website to reflect this passion with regular blogs and product reviews. Her customers who cannot make the shows can still find her and her products online.

For Katherine the enjoyment of bringing new products, that showcase great design and function paired with sustainable fashion, to her customers is what keeps her motivated. She loves to hear about where the clothes and shoes are going as they are made “for your adventures…”
